Overview



The Part-time Content Specialist in Special Education/Early Childhood Special Education occupies a position within the Test Development Services department of Evaluations Systems. The qualified candidate will have expertise in one or more of these disciplines related to the field: identification and assessment of children with special learning needs; differentiation, evidence- and research-based strategies, working knowledge of laws, responsibilities and requirements related to special education. The primary responsibility of this position is to develop test questions and other related materials for educator licensure assessments in the area of special education and early childhood special education. Other responsibilities include reviewing and editing materials from other writers and ensuring content accuracy and quality control. The Content Specialist reports to a Test Development Manager.



This position is located in our Hadley, MA office. Remote work is not offered at this time.



**Responsibilities**



+ Writes test items, practice tests, study guides, test frameworks, and related products

+ Reviews and edits test questions and related assessment materials developed by other writers

+ Evaluates the alignment of assessment materials to state and national standards

+ Stays apprised of developing trends in the field of science education at the state and national level



**Qualifications**



**Qualifications**



+ A bachelor's or master's degree in a field directly related to general special education and/or a specific area of special education.

+ Demonstrated knowledge of the field of special education, with in-depth knowledge of at least one of the following areas: learning disability, autism spectrum disorder, intellectual disability, developmental delay, visual impairment, Deaf/hard of hearing.

+ Special education teaching experience at the secondary level desirable but not required.

+ Assessment and/or curriculum development experience with an educational publisher or assessment provider a plus.

+ Knowledge of American Sign Language (ASL), and/or braille is a plus.



**Skills**



+ Demonstrated advanced writing, editorial, and research skills

+ Must be proficient with computers and software, including Microsoft Word

+ Must be organized and able to set priorities and meet deadlines with high quality work

+ Must be willing and able to accept constructive criticism and refine skills

+ Works well in a collaborative team setting
